The Stardragon Bio
The Stardragon (full bio):
An immortal child (how long is the childhood of a being whose lifespan is literally infinite) born as a part of "A Big Bang," so many Bang-Crunch cycles back that even IT doesn't know how old it is in years. Composed entirely of energy and forces, it has no material body, and feeds on entire solar systems. For some unknown period (since even it doesn't FULLY remember clear back to its birth) it simply moved through the universe feeding when and where it became hungry, not knowing if or what might be living in those star systems. Then it one "day" became aware of some mental disturbance on a planet it was about to eat. Investigating it discovered "OTHERS." It has since been very careful to eat only systems with no intelligent life. Going so far as to always have a few star systems identified for food should "the hunger" come upon it so suddenly that it must eat "NOW." Even making sure that the planets of those systems can't support life.
Having no material form The Stardragon can take on any shape and any size it chooses. Its three favorite forms are: The Dragon form it uses for battle and that it feeds in, the child form it uses when associating with mortals and new immortals, and the spark form it "sleeps" in and "travels" in. The Stardragon daily cycle begins with A Big Bang. It moves through its day until The Big Crunch. Upon the onset of The Big Crunch it grows sleepy and while the universe is in monoblock form The Stardragon "sleeps."
Knowing that there are others, The Stardragon began seeking other intelligent life forms. Being a child it could not resist playing with and or helping those it found. In this fashion it discovered "The Enemy," an Immortal with multiple incarnations each of which could have multiple avatars. This Immortal Enemy was devoted to destruction and evil and wished ill for ALL the macro cosmos. When it became aware of The Stardragon it sought to enslave the child. In this it under-estimated the raw power of The Stardragon and the child's range of knowledge. The Adversary lost and in the losing it taught The Stardragon of the infinite Macro Cosmos. The Stardragon also learned that the presence of a TRUE Immortal (like The Stardragon) and one of its (The Adversary's) incarnations or the avatars of an incarnation allowed The Adversary to bring its full presence and power to that location. The Stardragon has on several occasions faced the power of The Adversary and each time been victorious. But each such fight has a price. First The Stardragon must use such vast amounts of energy that after the fight it must feed. Second the Wounds inflicted by The Adversary are slow to heal (for their not being physical injuries). And worse each time The Adversary has been more prepared and the fight more precariously balanced. The Stardragon knows in its "heart" that the fight will come when it will lose and The Adversary will control a force capable of destroying Galaxies.
Between its battles with The Adversary, The Stardragon has explored other planes and worlds, finding wonder and delight in each. Sometimes it sides with one side or another in some great struggle. One such place was Avalon. Besieged by the forces of the Dark Sidhe, the great realm was about to fall when The Stardragon "moved" into that world. Sensing an avatar of The Adversary it blasted forth with a beam of energy that destroyed the avatar before The Adversary could react and bring Its full presence to bear. Of course the unfortunate Dark Sidhe that happened to be within 1000 meters of the avatar were also vaporized, which broke the siege. The Stardragon, incensed that they would follow or ally themselves to The Adversary, harried the rest across the face of the world until they took refuge below ground (not that that would have stopped The Stardragon, but it took pity on them). The Dark Sidhe in those days learned that The Stardragon feeds on energy, any energy of any form or nature. Neither Magic nor weapons not cause harm to The Stardragon, it simply absorbed the energy from the spells and grew stronger. The weapons either passed through its body causing no damage, bounced off without harming The Stardragon, or weapon and wielder would vanish in a blast of light, converted to energy and consumed by The Stardragon. Similar discoveries have been made by techno races, that their energy and projectile weapons are harmless to The Stardragon, such attacks merely make it stronger.
There are those that say "how could one survive a battle with so powerful a foe?" But if you think about it, how easy is it to pick up an egg if one has the strength to crush a planet. The Stardragon has no desire to destroy worlds, and only does so out of hunger or extreme rage, and so must exercise the greatest discretion when using its power.
The Stardragon is aware of at least one force greater than itself. The force that initiates each Big Bang. With each waking, the first thing it "hears" are the echos of two voices. The first, the voice of that greater power, saying "Let there be light," and the second the voice of The Adversary saying "Let there be darkness." It (The Stardragon) hopes that the first speaker will be nearby to take up the fight on that dreaded day when The Adversary finally wins their battle.
