The Major immediately being dismissed from his mind, Knytt pulls back his sleeve, replying "Go." into a gold Rolex, with a small speaker set discretely in the face. Melissa's voice can be clearly heard by the Major, Jimmy (assuming he is still conscious), Blaze, and of course Knytt. "Jurisdictional disputes will have to wait, sir. Around him monks went about their business, washing and chopping fruit and veg, preparing tables and generally getting ready for dinner. Stranger was starting to relax, it had been days since anyone tried to kill him and he was starting to wonder if this place was somehow blessed, maybe trouble couldn't reach him here. The doors flew open and three man came in, one fired a shot from a revolver into the ceiling. "Shit!" muttered Stranger under his breath, so much for the Grail Castle being blessed. "Who the f*** in charge here!" shouted the man with the revolver. The other two grinned and waved their weapons around threateningly, one had an Uzi, the other a shotgun. Stranger decided he was seriously outgunned and quietly folded his arms, concealing the vegetable knife within his voluminous sleeve. "I am." said the Abbot, "What do you want." Revolver walked over to him and pressed the weapon against his forehead. "Take me to the Grail." Stranger watched him, he was white, had long, greasy hair and a mustache, he hadn't shaved for a few days. American, probably, but his accent had been around the world a couple of times he guessed. "And if I should refuse?" "I'll start killing people until you co-operate." The mans voice was cold, he meant it Stranger was sure. "Follow me." said the Abbot quietly. "Bill, you stay here and watch these f******, we'll get the grail with the man here, if any of them cause trouble, shoot them." Revolver and uzi left, leaving 'Bill' to watch the monks. Stranger decided this situation was more to his liking. "They'll leave you Bill." he said. "What? Why should they?" Bill was a pale looking man, with a ratlike face and receeding brown hair, he also looked unshaven and tired. Should be pretty irritable, thought Stranger. "You know what the Grail is, what power it represents, why should they share it with you?" "Shut up!" Bill pointed the shotgun at him. "They'll leave you here, why do they need someone to guard monks Bill, what are we gonna do?" Bill walked up to Stranger and placed the muzzle of the shotgun against his forehead. "You f****** shut up! You hear! Your only trying to get me to turn against them! Now shut up!" "Dead right, Bill." Strangers left hand lashed out, closing over Bill's hand. Bill tried to fire the shotgun, but Strangers finger was on the other side of the trigger, stopping him. Strangers right hand struck him a hard heel of the hand blow on the forehead. Bill staggered back and fell over. Stranger was on him instantly, his hands closing around Bill's nec and applying enough pressure to certain select areas to render Bill unconscious very rapidly. Stranger quickly turned him over and tied him up with his own bootlaces. "Watch him." he said to a dazed looking monk "if he wakes up and tries to get free, hit him with this." Stranger handed him a saucepan from the table. He suspected the monk probably wouldn't carry out his instructions, but what the heck. Stranger checked the shotgun, it was a pump action Winchester, six shots total with another six in loops on the shoulder strap. He slung it over his shoulder and searched bill's pockets, no weapons or papers, unless you counted a Swiss Army knife. Now, time to end this. Stranger headed after the Abbot, he knew where the Grail Chamber was, so he pursued them quickly but quietly, moving like a shadow through the ancient, dusty halls of the castle. +++ The Abbot and his captors paused outside a door. They were in a large, dark, empty chamber. Columns lined the sides of the room and everywhere there were deep shadows. The door before them was a heavy oak affair, bound with thick iron bands and engraved with latin. The man with the revolver didn't care about latin, he had a gun and that made him all powerful. "Open it." "No." The Abbot decided that a stand needed to be made, no one but he could open this door and that meant they couldn' kill him. Or if they did, the grail was safe. The man with the revolver cocked the weapon and placed it agianst the Abbots temple. "Do you really have the courage of your convictions, little man! Are you prepared for me to spread your brains across the room for a moral point?" "I'm the.." "Throw down your weapons!" there was the noise of a shotgun slide being racked and a shell case bouncing across the floor. The voice had come from the deep shadows at the back of the room. "Oh f***. Kill him, Sid." "Right you are boss." The man with the Uzi spoke with a heavy London accent and headed into the middle of the room. He raised the Uzi and fired a long burst, spreading bullets across the back of the chamber. For a few seconds the room was illuminated by the flickering muzzle flash. Stranger leant against the back of the pillar he was sheltering behind, as bullets ricocheted around the room, gouging deep scars in the brickwork. "Nice try Sid! Missed me!" Another burst, this one centred around the column Stranger was hiding behind, Sid had correctly located him by the sound of his voice. The burst stopped and there was the hollow ringing noise of an empty magazine hitting the floor. Stranger ducked around column. "Your a" "amateur, sid" Stranger shot caught Sid in the arm, tearing away big portions of muscle and flesh. The Uzi clattered to the floor. Sid tried to reach it with his off hand, but Stranger was upon him, and a single blow from the butt of the shotgun took Sid out of the equation. Stranger racked his shotgun once more. "Your right." said a voice "He was an amateur." Stranger looked up. The last man was standing behind the Abbot with his revolver held against the Abbots temple. Stranger raised the shotgun. "Hah! Wrong tool for the job! You can't kill me without killing the Abbot with that." "Suppose I don't care." Replied the Stranger quietly. Revolver pointed the weapon straight at him. "Then I'll kill you instead." As the hammer fell Stranger rolled sideways. the shot missed him by inches as he hurled himself behind a pillar. "I tell you what," shouted Stranger "Why don't you just walk away. That way everyone gets to live." "Ha, ha, ha." The laugh was sneering. "No can do, not with _absolute power_ almost in my grasp. Come on out, or I'll kill the old man." "He's the only one who can open that door! You won't kill him, not with _absolute power_ almost in your grasp!" There was the sound of a scuffle, maybe a blow being struck, then sandaled feet running. 'Sod it.' thought Stranger, and swung around the column. The abbot had somehow slipped away from his captor and was legging it up the room, revolver had raised his pistol. Stranger pointed his shotgun at him. "DROP IT!" The man swung his gun toward him, Stranger didn't hesitate. "NO!!!" Screamed Stranger as he fired. The man was blown off his feet, landing heavily on his back. The shot had caught him square in the chest. Stranger walked up to him and looked down at the corpse. Suddenly he gave it a vicious kick to the side. "Now look what you made me do!" Stranger walked away, leaving bloody footprints across the room. =========================== Subject: Re: SECOND REVISION OF: Re: Aae: No No Not HIM! THATS IT/ the mental roar of The Stardragon lashes out. It vanishes from sight. Those who exist in 4 space would notice it retract into 4 space then with a gesture it freezes the entire area (1/4 mile radius), from the last spot that the Lunitic was seen, in time between one quanta of time and the next. It then picks the CAoL out of the area placing them on the perimiter. Next it plucks the police and military people out placeing them just outside that area. Finally it grabs all the "visible" (please note that unless Lunitic no longer is composed of matter and/or energy that The Stardragon would at least be aware of him, and that includes magical, spiritual, or psychic energies) people and animals from the area placing them outside the military forces. Having cleared the area of bystanders, it gestures again, this time a pinching motion, and the whole area is pinched out of its universe, to become a self-contained universe, with one inhabitant, Lunitic. The Stardragon then seals this new universe in all space so that NOTHING can get in or get out. It would take more raw power than even The Stardragon has to get into or out of that universe now. "Well?" she says, obviously angry, "-You- made the mess, -you- clean it up. You've just displaced the entire population for a 3 block radius. They have no homes now. And what if Lunitic decided to do an imitation of the Flash and was already out of the area by the time you acted?" Knytt turns his head and arches an eyebrow at Melissa. "That was the most illogical, irrational, emotional response I have ever witnessed." she continues. Knytt notices a familiar sting from his wrists. "I think you owe -everyone- here an apology." A quick trip back through the wyrm hole (reducing in size of course to be able to fit) and a quicker transformation and the childlike form of The Stardragon streaks off to the west. A few hundred miles to the west in an area where there are no ships, The Stardragon draws up a sphere of water, 1/4 mile in diameter, from the ocean, and consumes it. It then returnes to the crater transforms into its spark form and expands to fill the hole. It reaches into the past to examine every structure in the volume and materializes identical structures in the present. It ensures that all the pipes and wires (metalic or otherwise) are re-sealed. Pyewackett then walks across the counter to the sink, as the "cold" tap turns just enough to emit a thin stream of water. Tilting his head sideways, he laps at the water. *Spicy.* =========================== Subject: Re: AAE 4: Back at the Ranch (Long) On Sun, 23 Nov 1997 12:18:40 -0500 In Message # 00002066 In alt.callahans Post # 00000279 Caprice said: >On Sat, 22 Nov 1997 22:32:46 -0800 In Message # 00002060 > In alt.callahans Post # 00000273 Martin Gerster said: > >It is a metal table and large enough to seat at least ten people. They asked the empty air in front of them, "Where'd everyone go?" The natives seemed to be similarly surprised, and they decided to make themselves scarce before anyone gave them any more attention. They turned, and quietly walked away through the crowd down a side street. Once the crowd thinned out, they shifted back into the Mandy-form. *Right, so what now?* Mandy inquired after a good few blocks had been put between them and the battle scene. *I...do not know.* *Maybe there's still a few members of the CAoL back there.* *Do you think that is wise, to reveal our other form?* *Got any better ideas?* After a long silence and several more blocks, Raver hesitantly replied, *Perhaps we should go back to the Legion headquarters and figure out where everyone is.* *Good idea.* Mandy ceded control back to Raver, and the demon teleported them back to the HQ in a burst of black flame. Once there, they discovered the others sitting in the kitchen, calmly eating lunch. They crossed their arms and stared at the CAoL through narrowed eyes for several long moments. Finally, they spoke, their voices dangerously pleasant. "Would someone care to tell us just what happened? The lunch bell just ring? We were...startled, to say the least, when you disappeared. "Yuck." =========================== Subject: Re: AAE 4: Back at the Ranch (Long) On Tue, 25 Nov 1997 00:54:09 -0500 In Message # 00002090 In alt.callahans Post # 00000303 Caprice said: >On Tue, 25 Nov 1997 00:22:20 -0800 In Message # 00002088 > In alt.callahans Post # 00000301 Martin Gerster said: > >Mischef gets, briefly, telekenicaly lifted off the table while >Dhyrclhanc finishes setting up lunch. > >The superanuated Ruby Flame Dragon hatchling sends a telepathic >'skritching to the grey shidhe kitten and /Why hello there Mischef! >Addorable kitten, where's your Mommy?/ Mischief purrs at the scritching. *mommy's playing chess. i don't like chess. i like go. mommy gives me a nine-stone handicap. do you play go?* =========================== Subject: Re: AAE 4: Back at the Ranch (Long) On Tue, 25 Nov 1997 07:56:43 -0500 (EST) In Message # 00002091 In alt.callahans Post # 00000304 Dane0R0A said: In a message dated 97-11-24 01:11:26 EST, Shadow: << >> "It all looks so good, bro. Your call on this but I'd like an answer so I can plan deviously..... Jadis is pretty powerful, and can likely do a _very_ good imitation of Knytt, Morgan, and possibly Raver as well, Though that last isn't definite.... >> (OOC: I hadn't realized that Dorn was still at Legion HQ or else I would have let the Oracle thing stand. Hopefully this will clear things up) As The Stardragon watches the rest of the CAoL begin to eat lunch. A figure appears. /Hello, I am sorry to interupt your meal, but I need to pass some information on to you./ The childlike form of The Stardragon glances in the beings direction. /Hi, Oracle/ it says. /Would you go and help Merlin find John/ Oracle asks The Stardragon. /Sure/ The Stardragon responds. /I'm sure you have a number of questions of me, but my duty as a Dragon Guard requires me to give you some information first. Jadis, Knyttmare, and The Great Adversary are all weaving their separate plots to get possession of The Stardragon, and others of your group. You MUST NOT allow them to get access to it, without at least some of yourselves being present. If one or more of them were to counterfeit one or more of you, The Stardragon would probably accept that one as the real thing. I know you are thinking that with your sigils, lenses and its inate ability to see energy and spiritual patterns that it would be impossible to counterfeit one of you. BUT of you all The Stardragon has looked, and without extremely good reason won't look, that closely at only Fuzzy, during the point in time when the Controller nearly disrupted the macro-cosmos, and Xzerion (OOC:sorry about the spelling). The Stardragon doesn't scan that deeply for the same reason that it automatically responds violently to unexpected and/or unwelcome scans. Given that, you might be wondering if I am a counterfeit. Let me assure you The Stardragon knows MY pattern so well that not even The Great Adversary could counterfeit ME./ Oracle says./I must go now, but if you have need of me The Stardragon can summon me at will/ he continues, and then vanishes. =========================== Subject: Re: AAE 4: Chaos Theory On Tue, 25 Nov 1997 08:05:47 -0500 (EST) In Message # 00002092 In alt.callahans Post # 00000305 Dane0R0A said: << Michael Jon Knight said: Pyewackett purrs, *Maybe Lunitic has figured out that the Fundamental Energy of the Universe isn't Order energy AND Chaos energy/Light energy AND Dark energy/Good Luck and Bad Luck/whatever and its opposite, but just Energy that the user puts a spin on.* The feline looks around. *Or not...I'm just a cat, after all.* With that the cat winks and vanishes.
