With a cup of fruity-tasting herbal infusion in his hand (I've given
up calling them herbal teas) Dhyrclhan sits down at the table, while
leaving plenty of room for everyone else, and sets into enjoying the
morning's repast. Although, everyone will notice that the humaniod
pteradon eats more like a bear than like a bird [1]
[1] 1.) Bears have relatively low metabolisms and, thus, eat little
when compared to their overall body mass 2.) Birds have definitly high
metabolisms and thus eat quite a lot when compared to their body mass.
"So," says the semi-draconic Lensman, inbetween bites of food,
"anybody have any thoughts about how we're going to retrieve Caprice?"

Dang it. Pressed send to soon.
Here goes again:
"I'm coming along to watch, if for no other reason then that I'd like
to ask her how she defeated some of the best tracing devices known to
exist..." Scott says.
He then vanishes, saying something about
"STEALTH_MODE_ON!!" (Some cheesy computer

I am going to respond to the CyberPsi link that I belive to be
existant at present between Jim and Nemisis.
Nemisis Is in a Hurry
Some thing the other have never truely seen before...
The Appearance of flesh drops showing her Living Metal Sheen
\#Hold on Boy, I will be there Momentarily!#\
One Arm Elongates into the House at about Mach 2,
And Filtches one of Dhyrclhanc's Sidearms,
Then Retracts even Faster.
Another Frisks Fuzzy and Takes something from an inside Pocket,
By the Time he could figure out what was take it will be obvious.
The Other Four Draw their Sword,
All of this While she Moves a Few Yards from the House
And Releases a Hello Nurse Split...
\#The Bus is Leaving NOW!#\
And She activates Fuzzy's Chaos Gate Talisman...
A Circular Gate Opens to a Few feet from Jim
Radiating Raw Energy which effective amplifies all energies in the
Immediate
Area...
Nemisis Steps Through,
Followed by Hello Nurse
\#The Gate will Close in 5.7 seconds.#\
There is just a touch of suprise in Nemisis Mental Voice...
Hello Nurse Starts an Analysis of What Is being Done to Caprice.
Nemisis addresses Mr. Sinister
"He, is My Grandson,
She, Is a Friend,
You are In Deep Trouble!"

Holes appear shifitng around in Jim's body wherever a force beam
tries to strike, letting them pass through and beyond. When a wide
band beam strikes Jim actually expands and stretches to let it pass
through Ala Sandman style in appearance. the electrical shock bolts are quickly absorbed and the energy
stored as laser cannons seem to sprout out of Jim's body aiming in
every direction. Lasers lash out expending the electrical energy adn
strikign the force bolt projectors on the walls before the lasers seem
to melt back into Jim's body.
Then an expecially strong gravitational field hits and pulls Jim down
"splashing" into a formless lump, but that quickly re-forms, limbs
becoming twice their previous diameter but the total overall height
being half. The now just under 3' tall hulking brutish Jim simply
seems to be standing his ground rather than launching a counter-attack
back to Sinister.

"Huh? NO! No. No. No." Roland makes a gesture with his hand that is
vaguely reminiscent of crossing himself, though it can't be mistaken

"Not at all." If James doesn't have a second-hand smoke

charcoal on the patio. (OOC: Anyone who bothers will notice it's TK,

Jason merely nods politely.
Roland gazes at the few enemy survivors evenly. "/Well, at least

Roland doesn't stick his tongue out at James, but somehow, the
image is in the mind of everyone on the link.
Then he descends on the food with a vengeance.
Morgan's eyes go wide as she enters her kitchen. "Daaamn," she
whispers. Then, to James, "The kitchen must like you. Not many people
can work that kind of magic in here." She looks at Roland, apparently
sending a private comment. Roland blushes profusely.

#Grandmother# sends Dhyrclhanc, just finishing breakfast, #Please

Moving to a relativly open area within his foster-sibs' home,
Dhyrclhanc once again activates his "First-Ring" and creates a Gateway

her True form, to take it away.
There that takes care of that continuity gap.
[Oh well, it isn't like I realy needed *that* anyway] as two pistols,
aproximating the appearence of the pistol Harison Ford's character
used in "Blade Runner", seemingly phase into existance into his hands.

Mike grabs a mug of black coffee. He takes a sip. His eyebrows raise.
"Nothing wrong there."
Tink looks up at him expectantly. "Pwease?" Mike sighs, gives Tink a
sip, then pours her a cup of jasmine tea, adding a bit of milk and
sugar.

Mike sets Tink in a chair and starts fixing her a plate. Eggs, ham, a
couple biscuits, butter and honey for each, three golf-ball-sized
oranges, a couple red bananas, a short stack of buttermilk pancakes...
Mike frowns at the plate, reaches out over the table and his arm
disappears up to the elbow. When he brings it back, it holds a small
bowl that matches the plates, and is filled with a thick white grainy
substance that resembles thickened cream of wheat. He takes a bit of
butter, drops it on top and sets it down to the side of Tink's plate.
"Grits," he explains simply. "Sadly, some delicacies never catch on
out of where they are tradition. On the other hand, more reason to
visit those places."
Mike still doesn't seem satisfied, then snaps his fingers. "Milk."
The refridgerator door opens up, as a glass hovers down from a
cabinet. A pitcher of milk hovers out and is about to pour, when Mike
remarks, "Uh, whole, please." The pitcher goes back in the fridge,
another pops out, and pours a large glass of milk.
With the milk back in the fridge and the glass set on the table in
front of Tink, Mike nods. "Perfect. Dig in, Tink."
Mike fixs himself some waffles with maple syrup and eggs on the side
and sips his coffee.
If the meal progresses without the CAoL running off, Tink will put
away three times what Mike does, who's appetite rivals the man Zia
originally mistook him for (or his father).

Nemo has the poor vampire trapped in a sort of "box" of sunlight (he
piped it from where it's daylight and directed it to form the walls
and cover of a box. As long as the vampire doesn't try to cross the
walls, he's ok. But I imagine he has somewhat singed fingers from
learning the hard way what the "sparkle" signified (the sparkle is
just an added visual effect to give him "fair warning").
Nemo has been asking questions while collecting samples of tvarious
bodily fluids and tissues. When the MiB make it obvious that they'd
like to haul the vampire away Nemo will make a great show of
reluctance (and wink at them when the vampire can't see). He'll also
cast a thoughtful eye over the other prisoners (who will likely cringe
if they've seen what he's done to the poor vampire).
He comments (sounding like a stereotypical British "boffin":
"I *must* remember to keep an eye on this place. The most
*interesting* specimens keep popping up."
/Morgan, I figure that my act plus that comment ought to scare the
hell out of some of your 'unfriends'. If you can make use of any of
this stuff I got from the vampire, you are welcome to it. I've already
analysed it./

Nemo will avoid the coffe, but he may try some tea, as well as milk
and juice. He'll take small servings of just about everything, He
doesn't *need* to eat, but he taste buds and nose work just fine, and
he has no need to watch his weight. So he'll have some of just about
*everything*, just for the enjoyment.
This will, of course, be interrupted by the scene with Mischief.

"Sorry to eat and run. An excellent repast, James." Mike shifts into a

Both Mike and Tink appear near the gate, just out of its line of

drawn, surprisingly.

Mike just smiles. /Anybody who ever wanted to fight Mr. Sinister, come

He then privately sends straight to Dhyrchlanc's Lens, ^@Molly taught

up front I can't read thoughts on my own this way, just what you send.
Neither could Molly, who was a bit upset when Zia would flinch, as
Molly is hypersensitive about specificly not doing that. Not that Zia
knew, I think. The Lenses are impressively tight. We can't quite match
it, maybe a difference of original fictions, but all in all, very
similar to our natural abilities. You, or at least what is written
about Lensmen, are probably where we got the idea for ours, in fact.
But, I digress in my admiration. The girls wanted you to have this. {}
A present. Should keep any Tom, Dick or Scott from just waltzing in on
the lens link. We really should start having prospective members meet
us in the Place, we're too punchy on the road. See Nemo and Zia for
supporting evidence.@^
The packet of information, Dhryclhanc will immediately realize, is a
suggested patch to rid the lens link of an echo Mike had recently
noticed, probably from the number of kludges everyone (including
himself, natch) had added when new members joined, courtesy of Molly
and the twins.

Before leaving for Sinister's pocket dimension, Dhyrclhanc spends less
than a second to apply the patch to the mental "software" that runs
the Psi-web. Those with sensitive enough input will "feel" the web go
down for a pico-second or so anf then be up and running again within
the space of an eyeblink, or less. The only difference is that the
Link now has the same "feel" to it as a house whose owner just
installed extra insulation.
Now, if all the authors, and future newcomers will
co-operate with me, the link will be what I designed it to be in the
first place; an uncorruptable, undecypherable, undegradeable,
undecomposing, uninterceptable psychic link between all of the
original "charter" members of the CAoL who were on Quarren and, thus,
recieved a mini-Lens from me.
Mike has a point, we ought to screen wanna-be CAoLers at the
Place. At least that way we can cut down on the paranioa and
trigger-happiness whenever a new face appears.
Before making his own way to Sinister's tesseract Dhyrclhanc sends the
following, /The next time we get a calm moment, sombody remind me to
offer to give anybody who doesn't have one a mini-Lens. Now that I
have the First-Ring back again, I can make them for those that want
one./ And Dhyrclhanc dissapears in as smear of red, orange and amber
hues.

"Mr. Toliver," begins Dhyrclhanc, on of his DeLameters pointed

belabor the obvious, you are experimenting with one of our friends in

Hey Caprice! You're in charge of this little shindig, I know he
doesn't consider himself thus, but is Mr. Sinister truly evil?
Immoral, yes. Evil? The answer will have a direct effect upon what DC

Sinister takes shameless advantage of the fact, increasing his
attempts to blast Jim out of the area, the force beams being replaced
with stronger gravitational effects and tractor-like beams, all
angling at throwing Jim away from Legion and if possible, towards a

Jim is getting tired of dodging these attacks adn with the rest of
the group here to guard Caprice, he plots a plan of attack. Letting
one of the force beams catch him and propel him backwards, he opens an
X-window at the last moment in front of hte portal before disappearing
through.
The opposite end of hte window appears across the room, but nothing
comes out before it closes. For a moment it seems to all but Nemesis
and Tink that Jim is gone. They however can see the truth that is soon
revealed to everyone else.
Billions of nanites that compose Jim swarm out of hte window spread
apart to the appearance of an invisible gas. They move towards
Sinister and converge quickly to form a cocoon around him, lifting him
off the floor a bit in the process to get under him.
To the outside it looks liek a featureless chrome cocoon. On the
inside, Jim's face comes out of one of hte walls around Sinister and
the inside lights up so he can see it.

Sinister's eyes glow in fury. "YOU can not abide!" A shimmering
forceshield appears around him, within the cocoon. Anyone with a shred
of empathic ability can feel rage coming not just from him, but
seeming to 'echo' from all around. "It is YOU who have invaded my

The forcefield begins to push against the Cocoon, but then a modified

force pushing back since it is technically the exact same feild.

"Sadly," those within the pocket reality hear, "It has never been
Sinister's way to explain himself to anyone. Has it, Sinister?" The
feminine voice seems to crackle with a distant fire. "You, my kind
call thought-killer and fire-cager. And I would gladly reduce you to
your component molecules. But quite frankly, I haven't the time."
Sil follows the easiest route into Sinister's lab. She does not
resist the snaking tentacles that reach out to snare her, nor the
forcefield pushing her away from Sinister and Legion. "If you truly
care for the fate of your patient, Nathaniel, I suggest you tell us
why she is here. We are her friends and will help you, if you are
attempting to help _her._ If you are not..." Her eyes light up in a
way _very_ familiar to Sinister. "You have fought those bearing my
power before. And lost, every time."

Morgan smiles at the kitten. *I think they'll be glad for the visit,
too.* She walks to the living room and picks up a snowglobe from the
mantle. Inside can be seen the Heart of Arcadia, in all it's splendor.
She concentrates, and the view changes to show two large wolves, one
almost black, the other silver-grey, watching a litter of pups playing
with a young (or at least small) dragon. The dark wolf looks up as the
view comes into focus.
A moment later, a portal opens and three small furballs bounce
through, followed by their parents. The pups head for Mischief, but
stop at a respectful distance so they can all get each others' scent
before running off to play. The adults walk over to Morgan, one
nuzzling at each hand. *Stay inside! You can play in the basement if
you want room to run,* Morgan sends as the 'kids' run off.
*Hello, Cutter,* Morgan buries her face briefly in dark fur. Repeating
the motion with the silver wolf, *Hi, Leetah.*
*We've missed you,* Cutter sends. *Things have been pretty quiet, but
then again, Arcaida is often how you want it to be. Where's your
mate?*
*In the kitchen. We'll all be going off on another 'mission' soon, but
right now some of the team has gone to, presumably, rescue Caprice.
When she went down Mischief showed up here.*
*The kids will enjoy having a new playmate,* Leetah smiles (although
you have to know wolves to know it's a smile). *And how have things
been with you?* Morgan sends them a brief rundown of recent events.
Cutter growls softly, and Morgan knows without anyone sending that her
old companions aren't going to be leaving for a while....

From within the forcefield, Tink winks at Mike, who nods in reply.
Both disappear.
From within the cocoon, three cartoon characters appear around
Sinister. The two that pop up over his left shoulder announce "We're
the Warner brothers!" The one on the right says "And the Warner
sister!"
Yakko says, "So, Nathanial... can I call you Nathan?"
Dot says, "Can I call you Nate?"
Wakko says, "Can I call you Dadoo?"
Meanwhile, Mike appears next to the cylindar, quickly runs a tricorder
over it, then disappears, only to return to where he was standing just
as Tink appears in his arms. Yakko. Wakko, and Dot vanish from the
cocoon.
Tink thinks to 'themselves', [How was that for a diversion?]
Mike thinks to 'themselves', [Just fine.]
/Hmm, four DNA strands, one trying to overwrite the other three.
Normally, I would think that was Sinister's doing, trying to overwrite
Legion's DNA, but the other three aren't identical. In this case, I am
betting on the opposite. If I were Sinister, I would be trying to
expose her to different forms of DNA to see how much she could handle
before she was overwhelmed. Any opinions, pro or con? I've never had
dealings with him beyond reading a few issues in the comics./

Unfortunately, the diversion has an unexpected affect. With the
Phoenix present the level of danger has gone up in Sinister's
estimation by several orders of magnitude. He vanishes out of the
cocoon, appearing in front of Legion's tank. He doesn't do anything
visiable... but opens his symbiotic bond with the Tessaract to its
fullest extent. If you insist on persuing this course, it will not be

During the MIB cleanup scene.
:>"Not necessary. It is already attenuating." James remarks, stubbing

:
: Jason curses fluently. In Ancient Greek.
James snaps him a cold glance, "There is a lady present, _sir_. In
fact, you happen to be a _guest_ in her home. What seems to be your
difficulty? You could simply ask me about it, if it's troublesome."
* * *
At breakfast, a bit later...

:probably think with my fists." Roland starts to say something, but
:thinks better of it. Now that James allowed 'in,' however, he _might_
:have heard a name. Blofeld.
James is much sharper as a telepath and telekinetic than any other
disciplines. So he heard that, and (given his namesake) he would
definitely recognize the name. Despite his curiosity, however, once
James realizes Roland didn't intentionally send that, he ignores the
fact that he over-teeped it with an almost Vulcan-esque control.
Nevertheless, Roland can tell he'd really like to know.
Instead, James nods to Nemo. "Transportation?" He repeats in a mildly
puzzled tone. "Oh!" When the coin finally drops - it's still quite
early and James didn't get a full complement of sleep. "Ah, yes. I
don't usually have accompaniment, and my own needs are met with less
substantial forms." He sets his coffee down when he stands. After a
long moment of seeming abstraction, during which Roland senses no
other contact with his mind, his expression goes slightly puzzled and
concerned. "Zia says she can feel the emanations of a Broken Pattern,
now, but something isn't right about it." He snorts, "Well, less right
than usual. We better go - she'll get herself in trouble. Too curious.
The folks already engaged with Legion's assistancec should be more
than sufficient, I would venture a guess."
The dapper assassin glances at Nemo, "What do you estimate as an ETA
on this "old" ship of yours?" He has a half-smile lurking however, as
if he thinks even old equipment might be stunning given the CAoL's
power level.

Jim re-forms his human appearence as his captive is now gone. He
stands there patiently with a look on his face as if he expects

possesses a unique nature, one that changes with each reality she
visits. There are few exceptions, save a few places such as this one.
On entering a new reality, she begins to undergo a series of physical
and mental changes, which take from one to two weeks to completely
finish. The physical changes occur all the way down to the genetic
level."
He turns glowing red eyes to regard those present. "If she leaves that
reality before the process is complete, her DNA is a combination of
old and new... a combination that may not work perfectly together. If
this process is repeated several times... her body begins to turn
against itself, her immune system no longer able to identify her own
tissues."

A voice that sounds remarkably like Jim's (but isn't) says "So what
you're trying to do is some simple clean-up work? What if she were to
stay in a dimention for a few weeks, wouldn't that correct the
problem?"

Sinister replies angrily, "There is nothing simple about her
condition, or the psychosis that accompanies it! She would have been
dead with days. A few more hours of _uninterrupted_ work, and it will
be safe to awake her."

"I had begun to suspect that,
And I believe that Compleate Assimilation in just One Reality,
Would be insuficiant to clear the problem..."

(OOC: Sinister would almost certainly have noted by now that while
Sil _does_ bear the power of Phoenix, she only carries a sliver-much
as Rachel did once. She's about the equal of the Silver Surfer at the
moment.
(Now, if Sinister's _really_ good, he might be able to figure out
that any attempt on Sil's part to draw _more_ of Phoenix into herself,
she'll fail...the entity behind the Phoenix Force seems preoccupied
somehow...yep, that's a shameless plug)
Sil's frown vanishes. "I see," she replies conversationally, as if
Sinister hadn't just been phenomenally insulting and arrogant. "May we
watch? Jean therapy is your specialty, after all, and I so love to
watch a master work."
A few peanuts appear and bounce off Sil's head.

Before they can go, however, there's a knock at the door.
If anyone gets it, they see an absolutely stunning woman at the

are black. She smiles politely. "May I come in?"

curves slowly into the familiar cruel half-grin. "Pleasure exchanging
Shakespeare with you, even if you are a thug instead of a gentleman."
The butt of James' cigarrette vanishes somehow, and he jumps to get
the back door for Morgan.
Who hasn't even noticed the swearing, but then James WOULD be a
stickler for detail, at least three ways.

James actual looks a bit surprised - it's nice to know he can. After
another glance at Roland and Morgan (it is their house), he steps back
with a definitely Japanese flavored bow, to a depth indicating signal
respect. (ooc: Those Brits are nuts for their own Queens, but only a

Dhyrclhanc Said As CAoL Message # 00005250
While the battle rages on between Sinester and the other members of
the CAoL in the Tesseract, Dhyrclhanc takes advantage of the lull and
taps into Toliver's systems using PIXAR. After finding out that Legion
is in no direct danger from the Mad Doctor, The Lens-T'Skrang's
sidearms seemingly disolve into the atmosphere. When Mr. Sinester is
released from Jim's cocoon, Dhyrclhanc makes a formal, oriental bow to
the cyborg, "My most thorough, most humble and most sinceer apologies,
sir. It has been made obvious to me that my companions and I have
over-reacted to the situation at hand. Having made a complete fool of
myself I shall take my leave of you, sir. However, if you would be so
kind as to tell Milady Caprice that the next time she plans on
undergoing an elective proceedure, such as this, perhaps she ought to
inform her child first."
Before dissapearing into a cloud of red, orange and dark yellow hues,
Dhyrclhnac sends the following to Mike, /^Mike, tell Roland and the
others that I will meet you all at Bab5. I have a couple of tasks that
need looking after.^/
#Grandmother, please take good care of my Sterling(tm) while I am

Mike sighs as Tink closes the tricorder. "It probably was, perhaps it
just didn't sink in the way it ought to have. I can offer no better
apology than my companian has already, except to add the idea of it
being my own children in the same situation clouded my own judgement
in rushing off here 'to the rescue', as it were, without having the
facts of the matter at hand. Of course, the lady's medical condition
is none of our concern, but I should have questioned the child more
fully to be certain there was no mistaken impression in the mother's
condition."

"As there is no reason for me to remain, and every reason to depart, I
bid you adieu." Mike reaches under his coat and withdraws a small
potted lavendar plant that bears an unsigned 'Get Well' card.
Setting it on the floor at his feet, he rises and says, "Please throw
it out if her new form is allergic," then steps backwards through the
gateway Nemo had opened for just such a need, that of a hasty retreat.
As Mike and Tink enter the house, Mike scowls briefly to himself, then
says to Roland, "Dhyrclhanc will catch up with us at Babylon 5." The
Renegade Time Lord, Technomage, and Dreamer sets Tink in the chair and
grabs a small mug of coffee for himself and a cup of ginsing tea for
Tink, before settling into his own chair.
"I overheard talk of gating a ship into the docking bay. While I don't
doubt the expertise of Nemo, I believe it would be easier on all
concerned if we opted for the parking orbit. Once there, clearances
and such can be easily forged with someone on the station. A spot Tink
and I volunteer for since it is home turf for us."
