It's an outrage!

If you have CYBERsitter, or any of several other "child safe filters," you'll probably never see this, because they censor or block pages with such horrendous words as "pagan," "druid," "goddess," "jehovahswitnesses" (my mother-in-law will love that) and "mistress" (there go all the sites where the author uses the feminine form of webmaster!). For those of you who are only being censored as opposed to blocked, maybe you can see here that those words are "p@a#g$a%n," "d^r+u*i-d," "g_o+d=d@e#s$s," "j*e+h-o*v+a-h*s+w-i*t+n-e*s+s-e*s" and "m%i^s+t*r-e+s=s" (read between the symbols, if it'll let you). In a bit of poetic justice, even the censorship newsgroups are being blocked because they use these "bad" words.

If this steams you as bad as it does me, join me in protesting. Consider joining Youth Alliance Against Internet Censorship. Visit BLOCKED!!! for more information and suggestions. Add your name to "The Celtic Connection"s list of Website's And Businesses Concerned With Cybersitter. Join one of the banned sites webrings (mine are on my Grove of the Sacred Well site, and copied below), or at least read their home pages. Oh, and if you'd like to see what at least one Christian thinks of pagans, read A CHRISTIAN SPEAKS ON THE FAITH AND PATH OF WICCA. Thank you, James! Too bad the sitter-filters will block this wonderful show of understanding and tolerance, too.
