KANG: THE ANTI-WHIZZER

The Fastest Villain Alive

Some things never change. The Anti-Whizzer is one of them.

Kang, the Anti-Whizzer, is OE II's second fastest being, and he hates it. He hates it almost as much as he hates Stanley Stewart. In fact, Kang hates a lot of people -- his rebellious 'consort' Ravonna, the leader whom Stanley helped to free her time from him; Madeline, whom he chose for a replacement and rejected him constantly; the Grandmaster, for 'cheating' him of his rightful place in his own time; the Scarlet Centurion, just for being more philosophical about his defeats than Kang. In fact, in the final analysis, Kang may be the most frightening of all the Squadron's arch-enemies, as while the others can be reasoned with or distracted, Kang cannot -- for the only emotion left in him, the only force that drives him, is hate...

Character history:
Kang was not always known as the Anti-Whizzer. Once, he was the ruler of a large section of the 40th Century OE II. Although Terran space was vast, humanity had become less violent as a whole, and was unprepared for the vicious Kang. A rebel in his own lands, Ravonna, had caught his eye and he promptly captured her with his powerful technology. All seemed his...until a hero from the distant past was brought to the 40th Century by a malfunction in his newly-invented time machine. The Whizzer promptly countered Kang's temporal technology with his own vast powers, and Earth was free and whole once more.

From here, things get weird, even for a super-villain. One timeline-version would take this defeat equanimously, and conquer an alternate 40th Century. His history can be seen under the heading of the 'Scarlet Centurion.' But the other would become severely unbalanced by this defeat. Time and again -- literally -- Kang has travelled back to prove himself superior to the Whizzer. After a few defeats, Kang decided to usurp Stanley's place in the 20th Century, slowly becoming more and more obsessed with the Living Lightningbolt. He kidnapped poor Madeline so often she rivalled Lonni for 'most distressed damsel' in the OE II universe for a while. He tried to frame the Whizzer so many times that when Speed Demon tried it, everyone assumed he was Kang! The Anti-Whizzer, for all his frightening power, was in danger of becoming a joke.

Then he butchered the Renegades.

Though some of the Renegades escaped, all were injured, and it took their longtime rival the Whizzer to save them. While he was doing that, Kang kidnapped Madeline again, though this time she wasn't merely a hostage -- she was brainwashed by a future-tech device. For a year, Kang used her in all manner of horrific plots against Stanley, while the rest of the world thought her dead. Finally, she was rescued and restored to her life, but this only culminated in Kang's ultimate plot -- framing Stanley for Kang's own murder! This trick "obviously" couldn't have been pulled off by Kang, and the Whizzer was arrested. Only with the help of his old friends Dr. Spectrum, Power Princess, and the guilt-ridden Madeline, did the Whizzer manage to prove his innocence. Kang is still at large, somewhere in time, brimming with hatred...

Tactics:
Kang, for all his irrationality, can be a terrifyingly effective opponent. Between his superspeed, his blasters, and his genius, Kang could easily decimate entire legions of opponents. The Renegades -- all armed with superweaponry and experienced with teamwork against a superfast opponent -- were cut to ribbons. Kang prefers to toy with an opponent, though. "I like to start from the edge and work my way in," as he once told Madeline. He begins with probing strikes, even against enemies he's faced before, and work his way progressively toward deadlier attacks.
