The Ladyhawk is loosely modeled on ships such as the Morning Star from Cutthroat Island (originally from a Geocities site about xebecs) and more recently the Black Pearl (the non-cursed version) from Pirates of the Caribbean. For stats, the closest real-world ship I've found was Hudson's Half Moon, but not quite that small.

Morning Star

I MUST down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face and a grey dawn breaking.

I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must down to the seas again to the vagrant gypsy life.
To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.

Continuity Note

Experienced 7th Sea players may notice some things that don't seem right, like the date Caligari Island sank. These come from differences in our timeline. For example, we'd already played into early 1669 when the books came out placing the rising of Cabora in late 1668. Rather than go back and change Kestrel's history, we just worked the events we wanted in as soon as they'd fit. Other things were changed at the GMs discretion, or because Kestrel's actions had an effect on her Théah.
