Ak'hasta Argent Caprice Crow Dantris Dion John Kitty
Mischief Nellie Rhia Roscoe Squee Stranger Tezrantha Xzerrion

Ak'hasta [xzerrion] (NPC):Drow elf, age about 200, tall for an elf at 5'8". Ak'hasta was born as a noble son of a relatively minor house in Undraeth. In his third year at the Drow warrior academy, he became unquestionably to top of his class, and thus attracted the attention of Drisonel, who at the time was a senior priestess at the academy, not yet matron of her house, which at that time was third in the city. On becoming matron, Drisonel chose Ak'hasta for her primary consort and weaponsmaster. His tactical skill helped engineer the rise of her house to its position as unchallenged first house.

In recent years (the past 50 or so) he has become less satisfied with life in the Drow city, though he has risen as far as a male not a wizard can go. The constant callous bloodshed has made him bitter, and his doubting the worship of Lloth has made his position precarious, but his skill is such that Drisonel did not have him replaced. Particularly, the defection and subsequent imprisonment of his daughter Tezrantha led him to speak out against Drisonel more than was prudent, and cost him his position as her consort.

Ak'hasta was one of the few Drow to survive the war in Arcadia, which is why Drisonel brought him to Quaren where she suspected she would once again meet the CAoL. In his time on Quaren, he met Argent, and took her as one of his personal students, attempting to teach her everything he knew about fighting.

Argent [caprice] (NPC):Argent is Caprice's doppleganger on Quaren. Forced out of the Assassin's guild at age 17 by a bigoted master, Argent became a mercenary. She is one-fourth Drow, and has problems dealing with this.

Caprice [caprice]: Caprice is the union-mind of over twenty personalities. When entering a new world, Caprice's appearance begins to shift to what s/he would have been if born on that world. Following that, s/he begins to acquire the memories and personality of that alternate self. When s/he leaves the world Caprice's appearance will change again, however the persona may remain if s/he was there long enough. When the minds are functioning independently, they refer to themselves as Legion.

Dantris[xzerrion] (NPC): Dantris is a companion sent to aid Tezrantha after she was taken to the surface. In appearance, he is a muscular black horse with a white star on his forehead and phenomenally intelligent blue eyes. In reality, he is a black unicorn, capable of calling a horn of pure energy in place of his star. He prefers to remain in the background, but in times of great need he can project thoughts over vast distances. Creatures of nature, such as unicorns or pegasi, will come to his call.

Dion [dion.marshall]: Dion, is the half-sidhe son of Feonnbharr, the current Ard Ri of the Sidhe of Eire and a human witch. He stands about 5'11" and weighs in at 200 lbs. He has dark bronze hair and hazel eyes which vary in tint depending on mood and degree of exhaustion. While adventuring he favors black or grey clothing and collarless shirts. During the battle of Oa he wore a black cloth drover's coat and matching hat. His favorite weapons are a double bitted short battleaxe which was forged for him from the blade of a jackhammer and a short barreled automatic shotgun. He has inherited gifts from both parents. From his father, he can open gates between worlds. From his mother, he can change form and communicate with animals, most especially, Nellie. His relations with his father's court are to say the least strained, partially because he has no fully Sidhe children and partially because his father kept Dion's existence secret from them, pretended to be human when Dion was growing up.

John [pookie]: John Roslik was once human. Then he was joined, voluntarily, to a piece of a shard of an ancient race of beings called the Zodaii. In the process he gained enormous power and immortality, but lost his freedom. Once he realized this, he set in motion plans whose repercussions have yet to be fully felt. Suffice to say that he freed himself from his bondage at the price of most of his power, but not his knowledge or immortality. He retained all his old abilities as well, though at reduced efficiency. He purposely keeps vague about how low his powers have fallen, due to the fact that he has made many enemies over the years who would be on him like starving dogs if they knew. He augments his magic with tech, and at need can call upon great forces, though not without a price.

Kitty [Stranger] (NPC): Kitty's normal form is that of a very large (pony sized) russet brown cat. However she has the limited ability to morph, primarily into feline forms or transport forms. Other forms have included, normal sized cat, large, red steel cat (her 'battle form'), hovercar and horse. Her origins are obscure. It is clear that she is the embodiment of the 'idea of transportation', but at the same time, she's a big cat, and she is also Stranger's conscience. Kitty and Stranger crossed each others paths so often that they adopted each other, fate seemingly wanted them together.

Mischief [caprice] (NPC): Mischief is a small grey kitten from a faerie/magical reality. She has iridescent butterfly wings which are invisible when folded down against her back, and a small amount of magic. She thinks of Caprice as mommy.

Nellie [dion.marshall] (NPC): Nellie is a 15 lb. white and brindle rather gracile Boston Terrier bitch with the disconcerting habit of changing size to match whatever she is "playing" with. She is quite intelligent, but otherwise normal.

Rhia [pookie] (NPC): Rhiannon Roslik, adopted daughter of John. Raised by John from when she was 8 years old. Originally a clone of Morgan, as part of a plot of the Controller in AAE3, Rhiannon was and is part of the schemes of the Zodaii that controlled John. She has most of the abilities John does, though all but the magic and psi are still mostly locked away. Also immortal, her and John's relationship has evolved beyond father/daughter as the centuries passed. Both are fiercely protective of the other. John has also given over to her control of the small army he has assembled. At the moment, she has more raw power than John does.

Roscoe [gamer] (NPC): A shapeshifter from Arcadia who got trapped on Quaren. Saved by Driss before Driss learned to use his Godling power, Roscoe is Driss's constant companion now.

Squee [gamer] (NPC): A young orphan for Roscoe's race whom he found and adopted while they search for Squee's parents. A fledgling mage who needs more lessons in control.

Squee can now be found on the Bad Guys page, but has again changed his ways and will be moving back to this page once his bio is updated.

Stranger [pe21 or oss]: The Stranger, 5'9", lean but muscular human male, dark brown hair, steel blue eyes that can out-stare anything. Normally he has lots of scars.

The Stranger was once an ordinary person, who wanted no more than to settle down with a woman he could love and live in peace. However, he guessed the truth, guessed the existence of opposing Lords of Law and Chaos, and beyond that even, saw that the constant war between these forces was pointless and each was equally tyrannical.

Prince Arioch of Chaos didn't like this, and in a fit of pique cursed The Stranger to immortality. He also gave him certain gifts. Stranger's body has developed to optimum human potential, and he learns really, really fast. For a while Arioch duped Stranger into fighting for him, but eventually Stranger rebelled. Arioch tried to destroy him then, but MolloM Lord of Law had placed the exact same curse on Stranger, he too needed a warrior, especially one with a grudge against Arioch. Neither of these beings can destroy Stranger anymore, and their co-operation is extremely unlikely.

Stranger can die, but normally 'wakes up' in a nearby parallel, memories and skills intact. He is several centuries old, and has studies almost everything. He holds degrees in most things and understands paraphysics well enough to build dimension jumping devices. Above all, he is a warrior, however. He has never been able to settle down, no mortal woman ever accepted him on a long term basis. He spent a single evening with a Lady whose name he never found out, he knew she was the one for him, but never found her again. He thinks of her as Beatrice, but never, ever refers to her to anyone. His arch enemy is Gruber, who has the same gifts and curses as himself.

Stranger also has a pair of swords that contain a small part of his soul. One is a longsword that symbolizes Strangers noble side, while the other is a ninja-to and represents his cynical side. Somehow they always find their way back to him if he ever loses them.

Tezrantha[xzerrion] (NPC): Tezrantha is the daughter of Matron Drisonel (deceased) and Weaponsmaster Ak'hasta. She was trained as a drow High Priestess, but while learning the ability to focus and direct spiritual power, she rejected both the worship of Lloth and the evil ethic of the Drow. She instead embraces the nature god Gwaeron Windstrom and Eilistraee, drow goddess of kindness, love, and music. The difference between her and the other drow led her to aid Xzerrion's house even against her own when it became clear that the other houses would stamp out House Rilynt'tar rather than obey their own Law of Retribution. In the end, she failed and was captured and sent to the surface, a prisoner of an evil group of humans. Some time later, Xzerrion pulled off a miraculous rescue. (look for stories based on that background to turn up eventually.) She is Xzerrion's first and strongest love.

Xzerrion [xzerrion] (picture): Born the second son of House Rilynt'tar, third ranking noble house in the city of Undraeth. While training at the drow Mage Academy, he was attacked by a pair of assassins, killing one and capturing the other. From the one he captured, he learned of a plot by the second house to kill off his family over a political disagreement. He bribed the second assassin to report his death, and returned to his house to find all of his family dead except for his younger sister, who he barely arrived in time to rescue. In the course of pursuing justice by ordinary drow means, he learned the first house was in league with the second against him, by the order of Matron Drisonel. He, his sister, and Tezrantha (a noble lady of the first house who became smitten with Xzerrion) worked to rally the lower houses. They were unsuccessful, his sister Akordia was killed, and Tezrantha was captured and exiled to the surface to be a prisoner of the Zhentarim. In rage, Xzerrion retrieved the staff of his house's now dead house mage, and used it in conjunction with his house sigil to call a retributive strike in the Temple of Lloth while the matrons of the first and second houses and all of their high priestesses were inside. The resultant mage energies released burned out most of Xzerrion's abilities at true magic other than illusion and catapulted his body into the astral plane.

Though Xzerrion does not realize this, he survived only due to the prayers of Tezrantha, a priestess of Gwaeron Windstrom, for someone, *anyone*, to rescue her. Her god chose to use Xzerrion as the means to this end, and returned him to the surface of the material plane, where he found information leading him to where Tezrantha was held. With the aid of a gold and a silver dragon, who were also agents of Gwaeron, he accomplished the rescue, and spent several years adventuring in the company of Tezrantha. Later, he joined the CAoL both to assist Stranger and because those Stranger was fighting were tearing up his favorite bar.

Due to experiences in the underdark, Xzerrion is extremely cynical about the notion of justice, though when faced with injustice he will try to correct it. He retains a strong pride in his family name, and will risk anything to rescue those he considers family, which in my immediate recollection includes Crow, Morgan, Tezrantha, and fuzzy (those who either have carried house sigils or are exceptionally close to him for other reasons.) He despises the drow practice of slavery, particular that of using humanoid slaves as 'cannon fodder' to get the traps out of the way.
