“Climbing-scissors match?” Tom asks rhetorically, before turning his attention to the navigation controls. [There’s not much I can do in here, but maybe I can learn enough to keep an eye on these systems…hey, a Help file!]
As it turns out, the GodPhoenix had a great interface designer. After plotting the path, he stores it as a comparison flight so he can see how his best guess measures up to the actual flight plan, then gets out of the way.
