Sometimes it takes a while between finishing something, taking pics, and then getting around to actually posting :-). Today’s first entry: Blanket #7 (and the obligatory link to my original Project Linus post).
Fisherman “sampler”, overall size approx. 32″x32″ — it’s amazing how many different shades of fisherman/natural there are :-). This was an attempt to use up the dozen or so different shades I had. I started with 12 rows of a basket weave pattern, then went to the same shell stitch as in Blanket #6, alternating between not-quite-the-same colors, so the differences sort of blend into the pattern instead of leaving lines at odd places. I finished up with another 12 rows of the basket weave to make it less patchworky, then added a shell border. IIRC, I used a hook size H-8 (roughly 5 dc = 1″ in the basket weave), but gauge really isn’t an issue for something like this :-).
Update 12 Aug 2008: FWIW, I found a wrapper for one of the yarns that I used in either this one or Blanket #8:
Super Yarn Mart, Petite Americana Sport Weight, 100% Acrylic, 200 Natural 58 41
