Notes:
Another yarn that we got from Mending Hearts, and another project prompted by the request for donations for their participation in the “Sew Funky” craft show. My first attempt at doing something with it was the One Row Lace Scarf over 12 sts, but I didn’t like the way it looked in this bulky yarn and it would have been too short anyway.
So, I frogged it and improvised a narrower, farrow rib pattern. I like this pattern because it’s reversible while still being more interesting than standard ribbing.
Pattern:
Cast on 9 sts.
R1: (K2, P1) three times
R2: Sl 1 as if to purl, K1, P1, (K2, P1) twice.
Repeat row 2 until desired length is reached (or in this case, until almost out of yarn) and cast off in pattern.
This can be adjusted for other yarns and widths by casting on more stitches in multiples of three and repeating the K2P1 as needed. The slipped stitches are to give a cleaner edge; if desired those can be replaced with a K1 instead.
Note that this yarn is not wool, which most searches on the name turn up. It is 100% acrylic. The wrapper said Hunter Green, but it looked more teal to me. On my computer, the pic with it rolled up and the wide-shot on the bear look closest; with the closeup a little blue-er. alt=
