Pink lace scarf
While I spend more time on Facebook now than here, I still want to post the craft stuff, if only for posterity. Last November, I decided that having a grand-niece and two friend-nieces (the kind that call you “Aunt” even though there’s no technical relation) gave me a good way to use up all the pink crochet thread I inherited. The first project was a Queen Anne’s lace scarf for the grand-niece.
Cell phone caddy
Having practiced my DK on Blanket #10, I decided to use the technique to make a cell phone caddy for my hunny. All the ones we’ve been buying have either had bad clips that fell off his belt, or were loose enough to let the phone fall out. Not good.
Blanket #10: Hoover Blanket
With the Hoover blanket (variation #2), I’ve added another new technique to my crafty arsenal: double knitting! The double thickness should be nice and warm (it certainly felt warm sitting on my lap as I worked on it), and not be as breezy as regular knitting. This was (as far as I remember, adding this note when I moved the post off Livejournal in 2013) my last Project Linus blanket. The logistics of getting blankets to them got to be more of a hassle than it was worth, and I found another group to donate to (more on that later).
Blanket #9: Blue and white stripes
Still using up leftover yarns, I decided to get a little clever on this one. I started from the middle, and worked outward. That way, I knew that the finished blanket would have some symmetry :-). This one was done before the summer hat (and is where I got the idea to crochet between stitches instead of in them), but I didn’t get around to taking photos until now. Link’s Ocarina of Time Gauntlets
My hunny saw something like these in Big Sur, and I commented that I could easily make them to order for a fraction of the price (after all, I don’t charge for my own time ^_^). These were made to look as much like Link’s arm covering from Ocarina of Time as I could make them without driving myself crazy with an intricate pattern. The first one was done straight up the arm, which fit nicely at the wrist but was too tight up near the elbow. So, I did a second one with more sts cast on that decreased … (read more) “Link’s Ocarina of Time Gauntlets”

Yet Another Blanket (#8)
I’ve actually been working on a few things besides blankets, but this is what I have pics of ready to post :-). And, the obligatory link to my original Project Linus post.
Catching up (again): Blanket #7
Sometimes it takes a while between finishing something, taking pics, and then getting around to actually posting :-). Today’s first entry: Blanket #7 (and the obligatory link to my original Project Linus post).
