Life paths

Not that I think these are something to take too seriously, but since this looks to be based on numerology and I’ve found it to be close enough to take into consideration, I share the following:

Your Life Path Number is 11

Your purpose in life is to inspire others

Your amazing energy draws people to you, and you give them great insight in return.
You hold a great amount of power over others, without even trying.
You have the makings of an inventor, artist, religious leader, or prophet.

In love, you are sensitive and passionate. You connect with your partner on a very deep level.

You have great abilities, but you are often way too critical of yourself.
You don’t fit in – and instead of celebrating your differences, you dwell on them.
You have high expectations of yourself. But sometimes you set them too high and don’t achieve anything.

What Is Your Life Path Number?

Comments on mine, and folks sharing theirs, are both welcome. I dinked with the HTML code, but most will probably find the Plain Text option easiest. I especially want to hear from anyone who gets 2, since most numerology reduces 11 to 2, which I’ve known for a long time is my number.

**Your Life Path Number is 1**

Your purpose in life is to lead others.

You have great drive and determination. Nothing is going to stand in your way.
You seek out challenges and the spotlight. You’ll take all the work – and all the glory.
Status and success are important to you. You demand the best from everyone and everything.

In love, you tend to take a protective role. You enjoy being the provider in relationships.

You expect others to be like you, and as a result, you are often disappointed.
A little selfish and vain, you always put yourself first.
Remember, everyone already knows you’re great – you don’t need to remind them!

All right everybody, remember how great I am?

I am frequently accused of having too high of expectations.  I just expect the best – what is wrong with that? : )

I’m number 8! (4.00 / 2)

**Your Life Path Number is 8**

Your purpose in life is to help others succeed

You are both a natural leader and a natural success. You are also a great judge of character.
You have a head for business and finance. You know how to make money.
A great visionary, you can see gold where other people see nothing.

In love, you are very generous – with gifts, time, and guidance.

You love to inspire people, but it can be frustrating when they don’t understand your vision.
Great success comes easily for you. But so does great failure, as you are very reckless.
You are confident, and sometimes this confidence borders on arrogance.

Me, too! (none / 0)

As a life-long teacher, it’s easy to see the “help others succeed.”

On the other hand, “confidence borders on arrogance” is way off, for me anyway!  How ’bout you, Betty?

8etty 8lack? (none / 0)

Most people who know me think that I should be a teacher, and Socratic exploration is certainly something I can become easily lost in.  I also prefer to receive my plaudits as part of a group.  Confidence bordering on arrogance… well, I do have a sort of intellectual vanity, but it is an earnest and authentic vanity whether justified or not.

The funny part is about business and finance; that is my career, but I am totally disorganized about my own business and finances.

Interesting.

What does 9 signify? I did a tarot reading for myself and got four 9 cards. I was taught that if you get lots of cards with the same number it is important to note.

A short answer (4.00 / 2)

What does 9 signify? I did a tarot reading for myself and got four 9 cards. I was taught that if you get lots of cards with the same number it is important to note.

9’s belong to (I believe) Yesod, the Qabalistic sphere that (in terms of the Tarot) signifies potentiallity.  Depending on where those cards were layed, it could signify tremendous planning abaility but with obstacles towards actually seeing things through to fruition.

**Your Life Path Number is 3**

Your purpose in life is to express your unique self.

You are a creative and artistic person with an interesting view on life.
Witty and outgoing, you enjoy sharing your crazy ideas with anyone who will listen.
A total social butterfly, you’re the life of any party.

In love, you inspire and enchant your partner. You are often an object of fantasy and desire.

While you are very talented, you sometimes lack the ambition to put your talents in play.
And while your wit carries you a long way, you occasionally use it to mask your true feelings.
Your natural abilities can bring you all the success in the world … if you let them

I’m a 9 (4.00 / 2)

Your purpose in life is to make the world better

You are very socially conscious and a total idealist.
You think there are many things wrong with the world, and you want to fix them.
You have a big idea of how to world could be, and you’ll sacrifice almost anything to work towards this dream.

In love, you can easily see the beauty in someone else. And you never cling too tightly.

You are capable of great love, but it’s hard for you to focus your love on one person or relationship.
You have a lot of outward focus, and you tend to blame the world for your failures.
You are often disappointed by the realities of life – it’s hard for you to accept the shortcomings of the world.

Ok, outta my way.  I got things to do.  Geez… where to start?

by ogre on Tue Jan 10th, 2006 at 17:23:14 PDT

A good place to start (none / 0)

is right outside your own front door.

For some of us, it would be inside.  I, for one, need to clean my place.  And I’ve finally gotten about halfway done with the new curtains project I started 6 months ago (and all within the last 3 days).

**Your Life Path Number is 7**

Your purpose in life is to find truth and meaning

You are very spiritual, and you are interested in the mysteries of life.
You are quite analytical and a great thinker. You have many theories and insights.
A life of solitude is perfect for you. You need time to think and do things your way.

In love, you are quite charming. You attract many with your confidence and wit.

While you enjoy being alone, sometimes you take it to an extreme.
You can become too isolated, shutting out loved ones and friends.
Express yourself a little bit more, and you’ll be surprised where it takes you!

4 (4.00 / 2)

Your purpose in life is to build your vision.

You are practical and responsible. You work hard, knowing that there are no shortcuts in life.
You work for a better life for yourself and those you love, but you are not an idealist.
Trustworthy and honest, you also demonstrate great courage. People can count on you.

In love, you are a loyal and committed partner. You are the ideal spouse.

You don’t give up easily, and sometimes you can be too stubborn and unwilling to change.
You also can be too conservative at times. You sometime miss out on good opportunities.
Also remember that not everyone can work as hard as you, as disappointing as that is!

Wow — some of that is dead on, but then again some of it isn’t.

I like the last line because I’m still struggling with career. I would love my natural abilities to bring me success! I just don’t know how.

Anyway I’m happy I’m the object of fantasy and desire, must be why I’m still single – everyone’s busy desiring me. 😉 yeah, that’s it.

5 here: (4.00 / 3)

Your purpose in life is to life freely and collect experiences.
You love life – new adventures, new people, new ideas.
You are very curious, and you crave novelty in all forms.
You tend to make friends easily, and you enjoy the company of all types of people.
In love, you are fun and even a bit intoxicating. But you won’t stick around for long.
You are impulsive and spontaneous – which sometimes leads you to do things you regret.
Sometimes you can be overindulgent with food, sex, or drugs.
You have many talents, so many that you are often scattered and unfocused.

by Rain on Tue Jan 10th, 2006 at 17:42:36 PDT

I am a five, also (none / 1)

I guess this fits me since I am very curious about many things.

The one thing that does not fit is the part about love…I have stuck around with my dh for 39 1/2 years.  =:)
…and no drugs of overindulgence, but food…well…yes.

Numbre Deux (none / 1)

Your purpose in life is to promote peace.

You are very sensitive and insightful. You often know what others are thinking.
Patient and tactful, you bring ease to any tense situation.
You have an incredible amount of inner strength. Use it, and you can achieve almost anything.

In love, you know your partner’s needs and desires – and do your best to fulfill them.

While your sensitivity is your greatest strength, it can also be your greatest weakness.
At times, you tend to take what others think and say a little too seriously.
Sometimes you tend to run from confrontation when your best option is to stay and fight.

~~~  I was kinda skeptical, as all you had to do was enter your birthdate… but then after reading the other numbers, this one felt quite true to me.  Neat.  I like this kind of stuff.  Thanks.
I don’t think it’ll change :-).
Though I’ve heard it said that severe shocks, near-death experiences and the like can re-set biorhythms, so I wonder if they can also change your birth number? Something to look into…
I just got to it (none / 0)
I wish I were more sensitive to others thoughts and feelings, but like most geeks I’m occasionally clueless. Other than that, it fits fairly well (but then, I imagine most of us could see something of ourselves in all of these :-).
As for the life-changing event thing, I had a skull fracture in 1988 that could qualify as a reset, so let’s see…
Interesting. That incident is what started me on the path that eventually led to my initiation as a druid. Before that, I considered myself a child of the Goddess but wasn’t really doing anything with it. As for the rest, math was always my best subject and I’ve always been an introvert :-).
