The Rising: Remember, We’re *Winning*

Source knows, I understand how hard it is right now. I give major props to all the fighting Armando is doing (you should see the way he gets mugged almost daily on Dkos). And I’ve felt massively depressed for almost the last month straight.

But come on! DeLay was just indicted! Frist is being investigated for his seeing-eye trust jiggery pokery, Judith Miller finally blabbed, Bush is sinking and drinking, and Karl Rove is looking less like Lex Luthor and more like Curly Howard by the day. Only Cheniac is still getting away with murder, and now all he can really do is siphon money to Lexcorp…I mean Halliburton.

More below the fold.

This is the time. Our time. The begs for mercy disguised as threats from Blogs For Bush (as quoted, and obliterated, by the fantastic Hunter) are just the latest signs of their fear and desperation.

We are the blue phoenix, rising from the ashes of their mad war and their obscene incompetence. We are the ones shedding the light of truth on their lies and evasions, the ones “flipping the rock” (as Kid Oakland put it) of conservative rhetoric and showing America what kind of cockroaches hide beneath it.

And at last, at last, America is listening.

Yes, it took far too much pain, suffering and death. It took two years of gross incompetence, unspeakable torture, and sheer blood in Iraq. It took the foaming mouths of the Dominionists displayed for all to see during the Schiavo circus. It took the destruction of an entire American city, for the gods’ sake. But it’s happening.

That’s why the righties are so shrill and unstable. That’s why they’re trying to shut us up, slandering us up, down and sideways (even more than usual, I mean). That’s why they’re smearing one of the most respected DAs in the country as a “partisan Democrat” when DeLay’s guilty as sin and twice as ugly.

Because if they can’t shove this down the memory hole, they’re done. The pseudo-conservative theofascism they’re peddling will be discredited for a generation at least, and a lot of actual slimeballs will go down with it.

We are the blue phoenix. Time to rise.

I live like this is true (4.00 / 2)

because I have no alternative. Put one foot in front of the other. Fight the fight. All that good stuff.

But I’m not sure I believe it.

Maybe that’s why “faith” is mostly an irrelevant concept. I do what I do with purpose and intention in the face of what seem to be impossible odds. Maybe some people call it faith. I call it being stubborn.

“pseudo-conservative theofascism” (none / 1)

I’ve never heard that exact adjective to describe this mis-aligned ideology. But this phrase does it well. Thanks.

I am thinking on how to be a feather on a phoenix.
